This trolley contains all of the equipment required to restart your heart should it stop (cardiac arrest).
It has a defibrillator on top of it to shock your heart into a normal rhythm should this be required.
Cardiac arrest is uncommon but requires a very rapid response with access to this equipment for that resuscitation attempt to be successful. That is why there is a trolley on both the ICU and HDU.
The equipment is checked daily and all staff are trained in resuscitation skills.
